This collaboration initiative brings together expertise from IHI Corporation, the Japan International Research Centre for Agricultural Science, and the University of Science Malaysia to advance the development of innovative products derived from oil palm trunk (OPT) biomass. The project encompasses various stages, starting with the treatment of oil palm sap to enhance its quality and usability.

Additionally, the focus extends to biogas production from OPT biomass, with a particular emphasis on optimizing the process for efficient generation. Moreover, the collaboration aims to explore the utilization of biogas for electricity generation, leveraging sustainable energy sources.

Finally, a comprehensive system for OPT pellet production will be developed, ensuring the efficient utilization of this abundant biomass resource. Through this collaborative effort, the project endeavors to contribute to the sustainable utilization of oil palm biomass, addressing both environmental and economic aspects.
